GOD CAN PUT YOU BACK TOGETHER AGAIN
How many of you know the old familiar nursery rhyme, "Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall. Humpty Dumpty had a great fall?"
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the King's horses, And all the King's men
Couldn't put Humpty together again!
Humpty Dumpty was cheerful and content sitting high on a wall; and he probably didn't have any fear of being poached, boiled, or fried. He appeared to have lived a good life looking down on others; and perhaps he never had a concern of being cooked. But something happened later in the story to cause his downfall.
As with Humpty Dumpty, when we fall, pieces of our lives are shattered and we become broken vessels.
When the storms of life tear your world apart, only God can put the pieces back together again. When you have more questions than answers, only God can give you a vision of wholeness He has designed for you.
Life would be easier..If all of its pieces held together. If they always made sense, if nothing ever broke or was shattered.
Together is the crucial word. It expresses our irresistible hope that somehow we can put things back together after the shattering and alienating experiences in life; but we can do nothing without God. God is in control of everything.
Whether you feel that your life is a pile of pieces and you don't know where to start again; or that you have a good picture of who you are in the Lord: We all need to make the initial steps in putting the pieces of our lives back together with faith and with God as our anchor. We can't do it alone!
We will have some stumbles and some tumbles and we may get bruised up and battered. We have a few scrapes. Health issues, financial issues, families disintegrating, and job losses; and somehow with the grace of God, He can reach way down to pick us up; and mend our brokenness...making us whole again.
Most Holy and Wise God...
Lord, you have stood with us in time past; You have carried us through many hardships; You have shielded us from danger again and again. Thank You for hearing us as we lay our needs before You.
Lord, may we not be defeated; rather, may victory be ours through Your Son, Jesus Christ, who overcame even death and the grave. May the peace that transcends all understanding guard our hearts and minds...In Jesus' Name Amen
God, pick up the pieces. Put me back together again.
You are my praise.
